School Holiday Social Group
Are you looking for a school holiday program in the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney?
Our holiday social program is where kids find their people.
A small, calm group for Grades 5 and 6 who connect differently.
Three hours a day, four days, these school holidays. In Rose Bay.
Why this group exists?
Some kids want friends but find the usual settings too much.
The playground moves too fast
Clubs and teams don't quite fit
They come home from the party flat, not full
Our school holiday group is built for those kids. A small group where connection happens gently, around shared interests, at their pace.
What is it?
Five kids
One speech pathologist
Three hours a day, four days over the school holidays
Set up like a hang out space, not a classroom.
Crash mats, music, board games, cards, craft and projects
A shared snack and some cooking
As the group grows in confidence, trips out into the local community
It feels like a hangout
Underneath, it's therapeutic and intentional
Who is it for?
Kids in Grades 5 and 6 who:
Want friendships but find big or loud social settings hard
Do better somewhere small, calm and predictable
Are building social confidence and connection
Are autistic or neurodivergent, diagnosed or not
Are working towards using what they’ve learnt one on one onto a group scenario
A diagnosis is not needed to join. If your child sees themselves in the lines above, they likely fit.
What does a day look like?
Arrive and settle, snack, music, choose something low-key
A gentle check-in
A shared activity: a build, a game, a project
A break to move, eat and reset
A group challenge everyone shapes together
Wind down before going home
Predictable every day, so kids can relax into it.
Who runs it?
The holiday social group is run by Lara and Alva, speech pathologists at Kids Spot. They are passionate about connecting with and helping kids to be themselves and finding ways to connect with others that feels authentic to them.
Kids Spot has supported children in the eastern suburbs for over 20 years, with a play-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach. We're not here to change who your child is.
We help them connect as themselves.
